The site was formerly a gravel quarry which had been disused since the 1970s. There was a dilapidated shack on the site which our client wanted to rebuild into a holiday home for family and friends. Through a Certificate of Lawful Use and a subsequent full application, permission was duly granted.

We worked with Green Oak Carpentry Company to develop a Green Oak framed building with cedar cladding to the walls, together with cedar shingles on the roof. The natural materials help create a dwelling that sits very comfortably in its surroundings.
The house has a mechanical heat and ventilation system and a bio disc waste digester as it is only accessible via a forest track and is partially off grid.
